friday idea {create your own postcard}

who doesn't love a great postcard, right? especially when it's sent from your kidmin leader.

postcard

postcards are great to send to kids during the week. it's a lovely way to connect with kids and remind them of the key lesson, verse, or activity. so, we all agree. postcards are rad.

but, what if you could customize your next postcard? instead of a general photo on the front of the card, you include a picture of the bible story, or of the large group stage, the small group members, or the actual activity the children participated in. that's great, right?

i love sending postcards when i travel. recently, while in california, this custom postcard idea occured to me! why not create my own cards. i had pics just as good as the store-bought ones. maybe better! my husband is a filmmaker. he works dang hard to get the perfect shot.

so, i tried it out. using the diptic app, i chose a photo, added text and a personal message. diptic even asks for the address so you can send the postcard right from the app. easy. breezy. done.

the postcard costs $2 a pop {including the stamp for shipping}. which, of course makes it not affordable to send a card to every kid every week. unless you've got money to burn. and, if that's the case, do more than just send postcards. add an in-house starbucks for your kidmin volunteers. but, i digress. consider sending 1 custom card a week to 1 kid. or 1 kid per age group. you get the point. do what you can afford. kids will love getting a custom card!

happy friday.
