{fun} work

[Amy Dolan]

howdy, howdy. this fall, i've got a slew of fun work projects that just feel like icing on top of an already gloriously delicious cake. a portillos chocolate cake, of course.

moving on. a few, on the side work projects that have got me super jazzed right now:

first up -- just last week, my friend michael bayne launched the kidmin version of his parentministry site, and boy-oh-boy is it great. i got a little preview taste a few months ago, and ever since i've been scheming up ways to use the site. parent newsletters, parent emails in regards to specific kids' behaviors, volunteer training {because using parent resources for volunteers is fab-o-genuis}, and on and on. this thing is really good. and, i'm thrilled to be contributing resources from time to time!

next week, i'll be part of the social media team at the D6 Conference in Louisville. this is my 3rd year at the event, and each year i'm glad to have participated. i usually feel a bit away from my tribe at the event, mainly because it doesn't always feel women-honoring, but still, i'm glad for the opportunity to sharpen my opinions. i think it's important to be around others of faith with different perspectives. real learning happens when your own views are challenged, not necessarily when you're surrounded by those who think and believe the same as you. amen? amen.

in other fun projects, i'm now a contributing blogger for the newly designed KidzMatter site. i'm happy to be in the company of those fine folks. and, i'll be creating a video workshop for the upcoming Children's Ministry Websummit. {which, PS: is one of the best events. free + online.}

of course, in regards to my not-so-side-project, every sunday you'll find me leading at willow chicago. we're having a ball editing curriculum so that it fits right in an urban context, and re-designing classroom spaces, and creating a new culture of volunteerism, and on, and on, and on. please, please stop by if you're ever in the area. but, be warned. chicago is the best city, and if you plan to visit, plan also to stay. forever.

that's me. thankful today for {fun} work. now, you. what's fun in your work?
