BIG DAY! we're launching LOCAL today! it's been a dream, a calling, and now a reality.
LOCAL is a Chicago Children's Ministry Collaborative. it's being created for Chicago by Chicago.
LOCAL began the belief that leading in children’s ministry should be a collaborative effort. as children's ministry leaders we need the encouragement, support, and advice of those around us to lead strong for the sake of children’s faith. and, we're biased, but we believe chicago is filled with talented, innovative, wise, and creative children’s leaders.
our vision is to introduce and unite talented children’s ministry leaders in the chicagoland area.
LOCAL is our attempt to create a community of city and suburban children’s ministry leaders connected for the sake of encouragement and training. The Local Conference will serve as the catalyst event to launch a chicago network of children’s leaders within the church. we're creating this event for chicago and by chicago, which means everyone involved is from the chicago area: speakers, facilitators, sponsors, participants, food vendors, web, graphic & app designers. everyone. chicago.

our schedule is unique. i'll be presenting a 20 minute mega-talk on the vision of children's ministry, along with matt guevara speaking on special needs & phil vischer discussing the family. following each talk, trained facilitators will lead mid-size groups to practically apply the speaker's content for their unique context. we expect new innovations and resouces to arise from this time.
our core team of 8 chicago-area children's ministry leaders meets together monthly to organize and plan the LOCAL experience. they, truly are the heart and soul of this community.
and, there's more! we'll be hosting a pre-party the morning of the event, and a dinner following the event. we've included lunch {from chicago's finest food trucks} with the cost of registration. we're designing intentional community experiences so that leaders can stay connected after the event.
