D6 conference {2012}
Monday, September 10, 2012 at 8:56AM i'm thrilled to be heading to the D6 Conference in two weeks. i'll be part of the social media team once again, and i'm super excited to be joining up with this fantastic team.
last year was my first year at the event, and i really enjoyed my time. not all of the content is perfectly aligned with my personal perpsective, but i'm always committed to attending conferences with a variety of opinions. i believe, if you only attend events with people who think exactly the same as you, you limit your potential for growth. by rubbing shoulders with folks far more liberal and conservative than yourself, you instead, find a unique opportunity to challenge your original ideas. last year's D6 was a wonderful experience for me in just this -- i recommitted myself to leading strong as a woman in the church, and encouraging {non} traditional families. i'm really grateful.
{and} the mere fact that the D6 conference invites me to be part of the team highlights that we have this in common. jacob reminded us, this year, to share our unique perspective, positive or negative. to me, that's a very special characteristic of this conference.
so, what specifically is in store for this year?
- i'll be live-tweeting during the sessions. be sure to follow along at @adolan, and respond with hashtag #D62012.
- i'll be writing a blog summary for each of the main sessions. last year, i created PDFs of my notes that were downloadable. would this be helpful again?
- during the live stream sessions, i'll be available for live chatting in my new CHAT section on the blog. see that pretty feature to the left of this post? join me there each day for live chatting. it'll be like we're sitting together during the session.
- i'll be interviewing a few of the mainstage speakers. won't you help me? look through the speaker list and leave a comment suggesting one you'd like to see me interview.
be sure to catch up on my posts from last year -- and print the social media guide {below} for all D6 conference information {it's possible i added a few extra notes}. oh! and please, let me know if you'll be at the event. i'd love to meet you, drink a cup {or two} of coffee and chat kidmin.
